My First Sasa Haul~

Finally my order came! After so many monthsss.....

So anyway I just needed to buy some staples, and I wanted to try some masks to see if I like them. Not pictured is the Benico aloe mask because I used it already... it just looked like the green mask but in blue!

Here's all of what I got:

1. Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Wash- $9.80
It was a great price, and it has nice reviews, and I just wanted like a basic face wash!
2. JUJU cosmetics NATURAL JUJU Moisture Aloe Cream- $9.00
My Skin79 moisturizer was running out, and I couldn't afford another 20 buck one so I bought this. JUJU is also a good Japanese brand, like Hada Labo, but this isn't from the famous Aquamoist line. So far, its super duper sticky...... uck... it would probably be good for sensitive dry skin.

3. O'slee Oil-Control Toner- $7.80
I've been breaking out a little because of the new season, and this has chamomile, which is supposed to help that! So far, I like it a lot! And a good price~

4. Attirer Puff- just to apply toner okay.........

MASKSSSSSS

1. Benico 3D Sheet Mask in Aloe and Blueberry- $2.30 each
These are cute. Sasa is trying to tell me that the country of origin is Korea but the mask is written in Japanese................... what.........
2. Skin Food OJIMA WHITENING-$3.20
IMPULSIVE PURCHASES
this mask is so cuuuuuuute
3. Bio'MAIN Blackhead Off Nose Mask
I don't really have blackheads, but if I get some, I'll use this.
4. VOV Daily Fresh Mini Pack in Green Tea Collagen- $1.40
Well if this isn't the cutest of them all
are you starting to see how I pick my masks
The other 2 masks are free gifts YESSSS
Sorry for the picture quality lmao

Summer Care Part 2: Whitening

Putting this here a day early because I will not be able to blog tomorrow! Now for part two! I hope won't be as long as part one... so todays topic is whitening. I know this might not apply to everyone, some people enjoy being tan and some people are simply always going to be dark just because that's who they are. But for me, being tan is something to avoid! I look funny when I'm tan, and I don't want to be wrinkly and I definitely don't want skin cancer!! Being white is not very popular in the USA, unfortunately for me... I get mocked for it... but enough whining! I think it looks nice and I am going to show you how to do it too! First of all, it's most important to protect yourself from the sun. You should do this whether or not you want to stay pale. A general rule I use for picking sunscreen is 30spf or higher. You should use a different sunscreen for your face, body, and lips. Make sure your face sunscreen is oil free or you could easily breakout like me!! Especially in the summer, it's good to look for whitening in skin care products like cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. These are not easy to find in American stores at ALL!! Luckily, it is super easy to find on sasa.com. Make sure you make your orders for summer skin products early, because sasa takes a while to ship, at least to me O-O It looks really really bad to have a pale face and a tan body. I used to get cake faced sooo easily, until I discovereed this DIY trick for whitening your entire body! Taking milk baths once or twice a week is very good at evening your skin tone to match your face. It also feels good and is relaxing. I like to add a tablespoon or two of lemon juice for extra whitening benefits! Add your favorite face mask, maybe some cucumbers for your eyes, and you've got yourself a home made spa day! I even light candles and give myself a pedicure. This is also a great time to use an exfoliating body sugar, just to finish it off. Wow, that turned out to be waaaay shorter than the slimming one... probably because I have only been interested in whitening for a couple summers, but I have had lots of experience slimming myself haha! Thanks for reading, pompomstyle!

Summer Care Part 1: Slimming

Aahhh... summer is approaching fast, I can feel it in my bones!! Okay, it's only April, but it's never too early to prepare! I've divided my summer beauty guide into 2 parts, one for today and one for tomorrow, so that I can go in depth with both. Today's topic is..... slimming down for summer!!! Now what girl doesn't want to be just a bit thinner? Especially with the summertime coming up, it's time for pool parties, beach vacations, and tank tops. Gotta get that bikini body ready! I know I at least put on a few minor pounds over the holidays. Everyone does! And that's fine! But now, I miss my flat tummy and not-touching thighs, and I know just how to get them back safely and efficiently. First, I need to clarify that I am most surely NOT a weight loss expert, and this is not a weight loss blog. I am only talking about 5 or 6 pounds at the most, 10 if you really enjoyed Christmas. I cannot by any means assure you that these tips will make you loose big pounds, for that you would need a real diet and work out regime. Talk to a doctor, not a blogger!! With that outta the way, let's begin! The most important things in slimming down are diet and exercise. A good place to start is cutting out fried foods, breads, pasta, and sugary things. Don't worry, you don't have to stop cold turkey at all!! But these are foods to really, really watch. If you must eat a sandwich, chew it slowly and only use one slice of bread. And watch the mayonnaise, that stuff is packed with calories and fats. If you must have noodles, opt for the whole grain kind and don't slather them with butter. Pesto is great though! As for desserts, enjoy in moderation. A small slice of fudge won't set you back too far, but you shouldn't go for it every day. Great alternatives to sugary desserts are dark chocolate and fruit sorbets. One thing to completely cut out is soda. Oof any kind. Soda is basically pure sugar, not to mention all of those nasty chemicals they put in there. My biggest struggle is Starbucks, though. It is so easy to slurp down 600 calories in one sitting there. Fortunatley, they offer some healthier options. Look for skinny and lite drinks, and never take whipped cream on frappes. And o e more thing: just as a general rule for health, avoid McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King, and their kin at all costs!! If you absolutely absolutely MUST go, get a salad with an oil based dressing and never feel obliged to finish it. Better choices are chick fil a, and a lot of smaller restaurants. Now we gotta talk calories. Most of the time, I don't pay any attention to calories because I rarely eat sooo much. But when I'm focusing on thin, I watch my calorie count like a hawk. Since I am naturally so small, I can safely get away with eating 1,200 calories a day. Anything below 1000 is crazy and can end up making you fatter because it puts your body into starvation mode, which makes it absorb calories more and slows your metabolism. 1200, 1400, and 1600 are all valid options for people trying to slim down quickly. For me, that means 300 calorie breakfast and lunch, 400 calorie dinner, and 200 calories of snacks that I can divide up however I want. Make sure you dont start mindlessly snacking while watching tv! Of course, it's impossible to get slimmer without physical activity. I'm a pretty active person, but I really amp it up during spring. I do cross country, soccer, and tae kwon do. For most people, I would just recommend running. Running is free and easy, and it gets the heart pumping. I would start with going a mile, try to jog but walk if you get tired! Doing a little whenever you get time is good. Be sure to push yourself to build up endurance and muscles. Now at last I get to share my tips and tricks to slimming! Without these, I would probably weigh a good amount more than I do now. So without further ado.... 1. Drink tons and tons of water!! Water helps fill your stomach so you don't eat too much, it keeps you hydrated, and not to mention how it encourages healthy, radiant skin and hair! Plus, your body often confuses thirst for hunger, so if you are hungry, try water before snacking. 2. Drink a glass or more of greentea everyday. Greentea is honestly the miracle drink. It's more hydraulic than water, it's chock full of antioxidants, and it can speed up metabolism! 3. A banana a day keeps the doctor away! Bananas are full of potassium, and they can even speed up metabolism!! 4. Turnig up the music and dancing your heart out is a great way to sneak in fun exercise! 5. Never ever ever skip meals! Skipping meals, especially breakfast, makes you slow and groggy, and it makes you hungrier later so that you end up eating even more! Also, try to eat at the same time every day. Consistency is sooo important when it comes to health! 6. Don't forget your vitamins! It's always important to eat balanced meals and never go without protein, calcium, or omega oils. Talk to your doctor about what dietary supplements are right for you! So, that's pretty much all I know about slimming. It's what I do, and it works. Sorry it's so long! Tomorrows probably won't be, since I don't have as much experience with whitening. But you can see why I split summer care into two posts.... Thank you for reading that whole thing!! ( ;´Д`) ~Pompom

The Science Project (I swear this is relevant!)

At my school, we know spring has officially rolled around around because it is time for us to do our bi-annual science projects!! It’s like a science fair, but there’s no judging and no winning. Now, I always like to make my science projects relevant to my interests. With interests like mine, that’s pretty difficult! Like last time, I did a psychology project on stereotypes based on peoples outfits. I teamed up with a friend first dressed up all in pink then as total tomboys, and we asked elderly ladies what time it was. Lemme tell you, they did NOT like the short shorts on the girly outfit, and they were waaay nicer to us as tomboys! Weird, huh? Well, even though I pulled a nice little A- with that, my teacher said that she expected more from me and that this time I have to do something with “hard sciences”, so no more psychology! I was at a loss for all of 10 minutes, before this idea found me…. what if I tested out acne treatments to find out which are actually strongest at taking out the bacteria? And this was really the perfect idea for me, because I ALWAYS get a few painful pimples right at the changing of the season (so, right now…). I found a little guide to follow loosely for it on a site that I can’t find now, but basically it involves growing e-coli (O_O) and finding out which acne meds do the best job at preventing the e-coli from growing. Totally relevant, see?!! So anyway, this also gives me an excuse to buy loads of acne treatments to try out. Ehehehe, I can already see the clear skin in my head…. I will be testing out 9 different acne medications, 3 from CVS, 3 from Sasa, and 3 that my friends (or readers) recommend to me! Starting with the drugstore brands, they are… *drumroll* 1. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Spot Gel 2. Clean&Clear Advantage Fast Clearing Spot Gel 3. Clearasil Ultra Overnight Acne Gel And the Sasa ones….. 4. Kuan Yuan Lian PHAREX PROFESSIONAL Tea Tree Acne Treatment Gel 5. Heme Acne Spot Treatment Gel 6. Vinvin Active Anti Acne Gel Annnd the last 3 are to be decided! I am open to all of your suggestions! I wish I could try Proactiv, but the only way to get Proactiv is to buy the whole set for $20, which sux. I am super excited to see what works best. I have my money on the Clean&Clear one, just because I’ve heard that it is extremely extremely strong and hurts a lot to use and should only be applied as a last resort. With that, remember that this experiment only shows which acne med is strongest, not which one is best at clearing acne or best for you or for me. There are loads of other factors to consider, but the one that wins this will most likely be a good go-to for when you have that one pimple that just never goes away. I can’t wait to show everyone my results when it’s done!

My Opinion on Eyebrows

After reading an interesting article on eyebrows in Teen Vogue (which I happen to enjoy tremendously, thank you very much), I have noted that full eyebrows are becoming very popular.
This makes me very, very happy! I have never ever enjoyed the appearance of thin eyebrows. To me, they look sickly and meek. Full eyebrows are bold and strong. Plus, grooming eyebrows down to nothing is painful and easy to mess up! How did they even become popular in the first place?
I myself have full eyebrows. I tweeze them in between because unibrows will just never be in style. Uh-uh. Of course, there's always going to be something for me to be nit picky about as a blogger. Really though, this is a pretty big thing in eyebrows: the arch. The Teen Vogue eyebrow is this:

A far cry from the weak little things we used to see.
But I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but I don't love high arches. It could just be my being influenced by ulzzangs, and how they like to have more childish looking eyebrows, but I think playing with arches too much can make a person look mean and unapproachable. I like my eyebrows to be thick, but not caterpillars, and with only a hint of an arch. I think that this gives the look of being bold and fun, but also friendly.
I'm sure other people don't read into eyebrows as much as I like to, but they are an ultra important feature to keep nice. So girls, before you wax or tweeze or thread those eyebrows into the skinny little things that we're used to, consider this! Remember that thick eyebrows are always going to be natural looking, classy, and bold.
And that models almost always now have thick eyebrows, so it must be the best way, right?
Thanks for reading!!
